These guides, unless otherwise stated, provide an eight-semester plan for earning an associate degree from a TBR Community College listed below and a baccalaureate degree at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
When students enter UT, they must meet the standards and follow the procedures outlined in the university’s current undergraduate catalog.
- Student transferring to UT from two-year institutions must complete 60 semester hours at a senior institution.
- The final 30 semester hours must be completed in residence at UT.
- Transfer students will have their progress tracked with uTrack—a tool that identifies milestones that are designed to keep students on track for timely graduation. Milestone courses are indicated in red. Transfer students and counselors should review the UT catalog for question concerning milestone completion for specific majors.
- Students whose native language is not English may complete the foreign language requirement found in many transition guides by completing the English Composition requirement and any two-course literature sequence.
- Grades earned at other colleges and universities are used only for admission, course placement, and other academic decisions at UT. Although grades earned at other colleges and universities are not included in the UT GPA, many UT programs require a grade of C or higher in certain courses, including freshman composition.
