Student Information & Privacy
UT is committed to protecting the privacy and security of student records and personal information. We comply with federal laws, including the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (FERPA), and university-level data privacy policies to safeguard educational and personal data.
Student Records
The Student Records section helps you understand and manage your official academic information at UT Knoxville. Here you can learn how to view your academic history, order transcripts, access transcript keys, review what’s included on your diploma, and see how grades, GPA, and honors are recorded.
Residency
UT determines your residency classification to establish tuition rates and financial aid eligibility. Here you’ll find the criteria for in-state status, how to apply for in-state classification or appeal a decision, and guidelines for military-affiliated and international students.
Registration & Graduation

Proof of Lawful Presence
Federal and state regulations require UT to verify US citizenship or lawful presence for enrollment and financial aid purposes. This section — also referred to as EVEA — outlines the documentation required to meet verification requirements and how to submit it.
